[edit] Why this name?

Well, it just describes the concept pretty well, doesn't sound too bad, and is fairly easily pronouced in a variety of languages, or so I think...

[edit] What's wrong with it?

Babel refers to the legendary origin of languages according to the Bible, and thus only really makes sense in cultures based on the Bible. Ideally we would like to get away from such a cultural link. Which is why we're still after a better/more neutral name for the project and the website. Ideas welcome!
